With 350,000 km of gravel roads, 168,000 lakes and 78% of the country covered in forests, Finland is a dream destination for gravel riders. Add in the “everyman’s right", allowing you to roam the countryside, forage, fish and freely enjoy the recreational use of natural areas, and you have the perfect setting for bike(packing) adventures.

The Nordic Gravel Series offers an easy point of entry into the Finnish and Nordic gravel scene by promoting and supporting organised events throughout the region. For the 2019 season we’re collaborating with 5 event organizers taking gravel riders over the rural trails of Southern Finland, to the rolling lakeland areas, and North to the rugged lands beyond the Arctic Circle. Looking ahead to the 2020 Series, we are already reaching out to event organizers in Sweden and Estonia.

During June-August we’ll take advantage of the midsummer sun and extended hours of daylight to enjoy some excellent riding conditions. As we are dedicated to opening up gravel biking to a wider audience, all events provide a range of distances suitable for avid cyclists, urban commuters, outdoor enthusiasts and randoneurs alike. Most events are self-guided using GPS tracks made available a few days before the events. The final two events in the series take place on partially or entirely marked routes. Events also have timed segments for those with competitive ambitions, while other riders can simply enjoy the outdoors until the midnight closing of the finish zones. Naturally, feed stations are available to replenish and refuel participants.

We welcome riders, visitors, families and kids to our events to share a nice day out, enjoy some food and drinks, and enjoy a sauna followed by a lake swim. For the event catering we’re collaborating with local food and drink producers, breweries and food trucks. Accommodation can be booked from local providers, or you can bring your tent for a true outdoors experience.

The Nordic Gravel Series has been created by and in collaboration with local event organizers. The series organisers will help participants book additional services such as bike rentals, guided tours, and accommodation. is responsible for all marketing activities.
